Homework: Finish Critically Reading 19th Century Religious Music and The Advent of the Two Phones and Radio. Graded discussion tomorrow (All 19th century popular music) Classwork: Today we discussed the origins of Vaudeville and Minstrel. In groups you created a visual representation of the impact and legacy of Minstrel shows pertaining to early American culture and popular music.
Homework: Minstrel Poster due tomorrow, if you did not finish in class Classwork: Today we took brief notes on composer Stephen Foster and early popular music. We listened to and analyzed three songs and discussed the impact this had on society and the historical implications of the time.
