Classwork: Today we discussed the origins of Vaudeville and Minstrel. In groups you created a visual representation of the impact and legacy of Minstrel shows pertaining to early American culture and popular music.
Homework: Minstrel Poster due tomorrow, if you did not finish in class
Classwork: Today we took brief notes on composer Stephen Foster and early popular music. We listened to and analyzed three songs and discussed the impact this had on society and the historical implications of the time.
