Classwork: Today we took notes on the birth of Rock N'Roll. I introduced the Rock N'Roll presentation. Any remaining time was used for a work period.
Homework: Start researching for your Rock N'Roll presentation Classwork: Today we used the first part of class drafting questions for our graded discussion. The second half was used for the actual discussion.
Homework: None! Classwork: Today we read about other forms of popular music from the 1940s and 1950s. You also listened to an analyzed 5 different songs from this era.
Homework: Whatever you did not finish today is homework. Reading and Music analysis due tomorrow. Classwork: Today we watched a documentary about Frank Sinatra - notes from this will be helpful for our graded discussion on Friday. Homework: None! Classwork: Today I introduced the Crooners Research assignment the rest of class was used to start working on this.
Homework: Crooners research due on Tuesday. Classwork: We took notes on the rise of DJ's, the creation of the Top 40 and new technology in the music world. The rest of class was used to complete the 4-square assignment.
Homework: Finish 'The Rise of Big Singers' 4 square Classwork: Today we discussed the themes of this unit and took notes on the social climate in the post WWII era.
Homework: Finish the "Rise of Big Singers" critical read if you did not finish in class. Classwork: Today we had a gallery walk of the different blues projects and used notes from this to complete an in-class essay about the impact of the Blues on American Society.
