Please see below for the instructions for your Final.  If you would like to have a voice-over instructions see the link at the bottom.

  • Brainstorm the top 16 impact/influential things from second Semester (people, themes, events, etc.)
    • 1930s – 1970s
  • Rank them using the numbers 1-16
    • (1 being the highest seed and most impactful/influential)
    • (16 being the lowest seed and least impactful/influential)
  • Place them accordingly on the bracket sheet
    • This will allow you to see your match-ups
      • For Example if you put Vietnam War as #1 and JFK as #16 they would be in match up 1
    • You can see the example provided as to how the bracket should look.
  • Once you have the 16 items listed, go through the bracket and make a decision for each match up. This decision should be decided on who/what is the most influential or had the greatest impact.
    • There are 15 match-ups make sure you are doing the following for each match-up
      • You must justifying/explain the match-ups and who will win and why. This should be a minimum of 2-3 sentences.
        • For example, if Vietnam was more impactful (According to you) than JFK, you need to explain why
  • There are no wrong answers here, you just need to be able to justify your thoughts

  1. Using the online textbook please read through Chapter 53 (The Rise and Fall of Richard Nixon)
    • To access to Online Textbook, you will need to first go to Class Link (You can find a link to this on the homepage of my website). Our Textbook is Teach TCI.
  2. As you read through this chapter you need to take note of 10 events (really anything that happened during his time as President) of Nixon’s presidency. You will be creating a chart of the ups and downs of Nixon’s Presidency. Of the 10 events you find in the textbook please complete the following on the Nixon Success Chart:
    • For each event write the date and a short description (1-2 sentences)
    • Also, explain in complete sentences, why you placed it low, average or high. (1-2 sentences)
      • If you placed an event as a ‘high’’ in Nixon’s presidency explain why you made that choice – did it lead to positive change? Did it impact an aspect of American culture?
  3. Using the chart provided (Nixon Chart). Place the 10 events from chapter 53 where you believe they best fit. For example, you must determine if the event is a low, a high or an average point in Nixon’s Presidency. For each event, write the date, a short description and an explanation as to why it is either a low, high or average.
  4. Please submit to Teams when done
  5. You can complete this chart on the computer with the document provided, create your own or hand write your own – whatever is easiest for you.
    • The goal of this assignment is to see the ups and downs throughout Nixon’s presidency. This will help us understand 1970's and how we analyze a president’s legacy.
